Alan has been awarded BMI's "Million Airplay Award" as well as many platinum and gold record awards for over 6 million sales of records containing his songs. He has had over 100 covers of his originals to date, including I'll Be True to You (The Oakridge Boys) and Train Wreck of Emotion (Lorrie Morgan and Del McCoury). Other artists with Alan Rhody cuts include George Jones, Tanya Tucker, Lee Greenwood, T.G. Shephard, Toby Keith, Barbara Fairchild, Billy "Crash" Craddock, Kevin Welch and many, many more.

Alan has been a key player in creating the genre now called Americana or Acoustic Roots along with fellow mavericks such as Steve Earle, Kevin Welch, John Prine, Guy Clark, Emmy Lou Harris, Steve Young and many others.
Workshop will include information about songwriting and the music business from Alan's 35 years of experience: demos, performing originals, pitching songs, creating relationships, copyrights, publishing contracts, the creative process, writer?s block, song structure, melody. Alan will also do a number of song critiques (as time allows), and will also perform a song or two to close the seminar.EBe sure to bring paper, pen/pencil for notes and a songwriting exercise, as well as a song on CD (if you would like a critique).
