Mary Miller Benefit Concert

Mary Miller Benefit Concert.

Many of you are already aware of efforts being made to help Mary Miller in her fight against breast cancer. For those of you who are not aware, below is a brief account.

Mary, a well known musician around town for many years, has breast cancer. That alone is a big enough problem for anyone to contend with. Being a musician and stand-up comic with a part time job means that health insurance is not an affordable option, the result being a bill of around $40,000 plus for her treatment. On top of that, Mary has to continue to support herself and pay all the expenses that day-to-day living entails.

I am planning another benefit concert to help Mary, so once again I am asking for your help. I want to try and make this a big splash and to raise as much money as we can.

Please do not turn away from this request. One of our own needs your help.

What I Need:

Initially, two things:

Many people who read this blog, or who are on my e mail list, have contacts in the music world who are well-known and can pull in a crowd.

If you know someone, then please approach them to see if they would be willing to do a concert. If you know someone who knows someone, then please ask them to ask.

This is so important, please spend a few minutes for such a good cause and get back to me with any contacts you have.

Secondly: do you have contact with a theater manager who would be willing to offer their establishment for such an event? The more possibilities the better so we can accommodate the large crowds we hope to attract.

Pass this message on to as many people on your e mail list as you can.

If you are aware of anything else that is being done for Mary let me know so I can advertise it and get the message out there.

Mike Hale is coordinating donations. He has set up a web-site with paypal capacity to receive donations for Mary. The web-site is Please let Mike know if you are able to donate a little extra, or simply go to this link.

Any information that you have may be forwarded to me at:

Thank you,

John Locke
