Happy New Year

Happy New Year to one and all

I hope you all had a good holiday with lots of fun, conversation and music. I had a great time. I started off with the Open Mic party at the home of Linda and Larry Pennington, a full house with lots of music and food.

We are back to Cadillac Jack's on Thursday 3 Jan.

The following night was a party at Bob and Billie Kirby. The Kirby Pub was packed. There were members of various bands, Ladies of Longford, Knot Fibbin, Aisling to name a few. There was a good Irish jam session. I was also out the next three nights, but no music involved. I did play a gig on the afternoon of New Years Eve.

I have had a few messages sent to me from some notable people which I will place below for you to read.

From Wendy
There's a great singer/song writer coming to the Columbus Mennonite Church on January 12Th at 7:30...his name is Brad Yoder and he performed there last year and he's really good. Can you get word of this out to everyone?

Here's the URL: http://www.bradyoder.com/shows/index.html
(Sorry the blog is acting up I can not make it a live link)

From Halfway Home.

Here's hoping all of you have had a safe and enjoyable holiday season so far. All of us in Halfway Home have had a grand time so far with family and friends. Santa seemed to be good to most of us, although one member did get a seven - page, single spaced written reprimand from the jolly old elf, along with a lump of coal. This member, who shall remain un-named, then proceeded to smear coal dust on his accordion keyboard because he didn't wash his hands before practicing after he opened his Christmas stocking.

We're ready to start 2008 off with a bit of music in Powell on Saturday, January 5th at Espresso Yourself Coffee House. We play from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, and are hoping some of you can make it out to help us ring in the new year a couple of days late. This is a new venue for us. We are excited to be on their entertainment schedule and excited to be playing out live again. The folks who run Espresso Yourself have made every effort to make their café a great place for musicians to play and a great place to listen to live music. They are located at 50 W Olentangy St in Powell - you can go to their website www.espressoyourselfmusiccafe.com and get directions and more information about the place. They have a good variety of live music every weekend, so check 'em out!!

Looking forward to seeing you, and Happy New Year!!!!
