Folk Arts Thrive

Folk Arts Thrive

There has been so much happening that it is a job to keep up. It is good for the Folk Arts, but disappointing when you have to miss one thing to go to another. One performance I did not want to miss was the CFMS Coffee House. The Raineys were on top form, by the reaction at the end the audience enjoyed there performance as much as I did. This father and two daughters trio are a delight to listen to. Dave can be very proud of his two daughters and his close relationship with them. Thank you for a very entertaining musical evening.

KnotFibbn that Irish band of immense talent and I say that with justification, as they are now playing at major festivals and venues around the country, will be releasing their anniversary CD at Byrne's pub on West Third at 9 PM on Saturday 6 October. This CD is live so there will be lots of of atmosphere as there always is with their gigs. Go along and party to a good Irish session.

The following day 7 October at Battelle Darby Creek there is a day to enjoy. Lots of fun for the family. Music from Columbus Folk Music Society, you are all invited to come along and play or just listen and socialize. It is a Pot Luck so lets have some fun. Live Mammals, reptiles and amphibians, pioneer games and activities, crafts and games and lots more. This starts at 1 PM. See you there.

Areopagitica Books becoming fast know as "The Bookshop", as if there is no other book shop. Well is there? Has decided to go to music every Saturday night to see who is on click on the calendar. Doug and Rebbecca are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet and very good supporters of The Arts. Not only that but there are good books as well.

For you Storytelling people I will be at the Delaware branch of Oakland Nursery for their Fall Festival on 13 and 14 October from 1 PM until 4 PM. this will be my third Fall Festival for them and I am looking forward to it. I have also been booked again for their Christmas Festival so keep an eye out for that.

Next months Coffee House the performers will be, Hartley and Joseph, Foot Tapping, Belly Laughing Music and Song. 27 October.

Keep that information coming and get your friends to sign up for the blog. At the last count we had 59 sign up for email and I have no idea how many for RSS feeds as they go direct to their Inbox. This means good exposure for your events gigs etc. On Blog Top Sites which is a web site that tracks the best Blogs we are averaging around 250 th. not impressed? What if I tell you there are 89,000 Blogs registered. We are doing well and the more who sign up the more visits we will have from around the country and the world.

This photo is of my self and Andy Brownlie this is the man you can blame for me being involved with Folk Music. We met in Las Vegas after a 30 year gap. It was a good night.
See you around

John
