Bob Dylan Film

‘Not There’ to play here
I’m Not There, an unconventional biographical film about Bob Dylan, will have its central Ohio premiere at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Wexner Center for the Arts, 1871 N. High St. The film from director Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven) splits Dylan’s history into six sections, with a different actor playing the singer-songwriter in each. Dylan is played by Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Marcus Carl Franklin, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger and Ben Whishaw. The screening will be introduced by co-producer Christine Vachon, the subject of a Wexner Center retrospective in 2006 — like Haynes in 2000. Tickets cost $10, or $8 for members, students and senior citizens. They are available now for members and go on sale to the public on Oct. 27. No date has been announced for a Columbus theatrical run of the film.
